How to choose a bikini for your body shape

Finding the right bikini for your bod is an annual ordeal. You can always guarantee that if the bottoms fit, the top will be too small (and if the top fits, the bottoms will make your backside look huge). Follow our advice and find the right bikini for your body shape.

If you've got no shape:

If you're very slim with no waist and shoulders the same width as your hips, you can get away with pretty much anything bikini-wise, but make sure you go for one that makes you look feminine.
Triangle bikinis look great on slim women, as do bikinis that fasten around the back of the neck (they flatter shoulders and rectangular shapes). Plus, tie bottoms look great on svelte legs. If you prefer a one-piece, go for one with geometric motifs to highlight your waist and give you shape.
- If you're full-figured with no waist, go for a one-piece swimsuit in a matte colour to highlight your decollete. One-pieces camouflage little sins like tummies and flab. Balcony shapes are glam and sexy. If you go for a 2-piece, avoid bikini shorts or high-cut bottoms which will weight down your figure.
If you've got a boyish, triangular shape:
If you have large shoulder and slim hips, balance out your figure and make it more feminine in high-waisted short bikinis that lengthen your legs (these are also great at hiding any hint of a tummy!). They widen your hips and make you look more in proportion.
If you have a small chest, try push-up plunge bras to give you a bit of oomph.
1-piece costumes suit you well, especially V-neck ones which widen your figure in the right places. Think Bond Girl!
If you're pear-shaped:
If you have big hips and slim shoulders, go for a bikini. Weigh out your bottom half with a balcony top that draws attention to your chest. Triangle tops tied behind the neck show off good shoulders, while low-waisted bottoms with little ties balance out your shape well. 1-piece swimsuits highlight your waist, but they make your legs look shorter - or even heavier - than they really are.
If you have well-proportioned curves:
If your shoulders and hips are the same width and you have a slim waist to boot, you're lucky enough to be able to wear pretty much any kind of swimwear. Take care with 1-piece costumes, though. They have to fit perfectly: if they don't hug your curves in the right places they flatten your shape and make you look heavier than you are. If you have little love handles, avoid tight strings that make you look like you're squeezed into your bikini.

The Perfect Bra To Complete Your Formal Look

Okay, so now you have found the perfect dress to wear to your 2012 Prom, Sweet Sixteen, or Wedding, but the next search is for your undergarments! The most daunting task for formal wear attire is choosing the right bra. Some may feel that regular bras are always the best way to go, but you may be compromising the overall appearance of your evening look when you just settle for the old safety net like the strapless bra. Here at MissesDressy, we want you to look stunning from start to finish, so heed our advice when choosing your unmentionables, specifically the bra. Keep in mind that specific necklines require the perfect bra for optimum support and comfort. Remember before you go for any dress fittings/alterations; be sure to have your undergarments and shoes, so you can have proper measurements done. You can even go as far as wearing your accessories at your fitting to get an idea of how beautiful you will look when your big day arrives! If you do not need alterations, try to match the bra to the neckline in order to truly complete the look. Remember, MissesDressy offers a free silicone bra with every 2012 Prom dress and evening gown purchase. The silicone bra will enhance your breast size a bit, and will look natural when worn with a properly fitted bra.

Strapless bra

Dresses that are suitable for the strapless bra are specific to the strapless, one shoulder, bandeau and sweetheart necklines. For optimal support get a strapless bra that has an underwire, this will avoid you pulling up your bra under your dress. The Bridal by Mori Lee line has a lot of strapless wedding gowns to choose from, especially this gorgeous strapless wedding evening gown. The one shoulder evening gown requires the strapless bra (some strapless bras have the option to add straps, all you need to do is add one strap!), check out this bridesmaid dress from Allure Bridesmaids, which comes in an elegant evening gown or versatile cocktail length dress. Both dresses have one shoulder necklines and the Allure Bridesmaids line has a variety of one shoulder neckline bridesmaids dresses to choose from—this neckline is quite popular! The sweetheart neckline is a classic neckline that emotes pure romance, they come in either strapless form or with straps (in many, many variations!), so wearing a strapless bra for your strapless sweetheart neckline gown is totally acceptable!

How To Walk in High Heels

High heel shoes are normally classed as any heel height over 3" or 4" (inches), although this is a matter of opinion and can vary depending on foot size. Some heels can be as high as 6" or even 7" without a platform, whilst the 4 or 5" heel remains the most popular of the highest worn outside of the home.

Wearing high heels can make you stand so that your legs look slimmer, your stomach is flatter, and your femininity is unstoppable. It can also do wonders for your stride, but walking in high heels is not a natural talent--it's learned skill, perfected by practice and discipline.

Here's How:

1.First practice just standing in high heels. In front of a full length mirror, stand for a while, then turn slightly to each side. Not only will you be able to check your posture and profile, but the act of merely standing in high heels will help remove some of your apprehension, and let you get accustomed to the added height of the heel.
2.Take a few steps in your high heels. If possible, do this at first on a hard floor (not too slick), or in a room with low carpeting, as really thick or padded carpeting can throw off your balance.
3.As you walk in high heels, remember to keep your legs straight and as close together as possible. With each step, point your feet as straight in front of you as you can. Start off with slow, determined steps at first, being extra conscientious of each step. As you build confidence and experience walking in high heels, it will become much more natural.
4.Continue walking back and forth across the room, turning different directions, and stopping without wobbling on your high heels. Once you're comfortable with this, try the same thing on different floor surfaces, and remember to start off slowly with each one.
5.When it comes to actually walking comfortably, practice, practice, practice. If you haven't ever worn high heels, or you are already comfortable in high heels, this sounds silly. But trust me, the first time you put them on, you'll see what I mean. Wearing high heels is a totally different walking experience, and if you take it for granted, you'll not only end up with sore feet, but possibly an injury. And, if you have a bad experience first time out, you'll be doomed to flats forever.
6.As you grow more confident in your abilities to walk, turn, and do all the other things you might need to do in high heels, you can move up to the height of shoe you'll be wearing on the day or night of your event - but remember to start slowly with each bit of added height. Jumping from two inch heels to four inch heels probably will not be quite as disorienting as your first step in any high heels, but it still will require patience and practice.
7.When wearing high heels on a staircase, always use... Read More

The new Fashion Accessory: Coloured Lenses

The coloured lenses are proving to be extremely popular and are suited to both those that require a prescription and also those that don’t.Using color contacts to change your look has become a hot trend.

However, anyone wishing to invest in such a fashion accessory that doesn’t normally require glasses will still have to pay a trip to their opticians.
This fashion trend is a great idea for those that fancy either a subtle or a dramatic change. With so many colours available there is certain to be a shade to suit all of your needs.
Get lenses currently offers an assortment of shades including opaque lenses for darker eyes and enhancers for lighter eyes.
Some of the shades available include the likes of FreshLook Colours, which offer and intense and colourful changes and are therefore suited to the braver fashionista. FreshLookColourblends offer a subtle and natural change and are therefore more suited to those who intend to wear their lenses on a day-to-day basis. FreshLook Dimensions offer extra impact for light coloured peepers and Expressions Colours allow wearers to alter their natural eye colour slightly.

Sometimes you can change your look just for the evening, or to match whichever mood you’re in. Or, you can find a pair that gives just that look you want to have, and you can wear the same color every day. Color contacts completely transform you and make you look stunning!

More and more top celebrities and glamorous actresses are wearing color contact lenses. Sometimes they do it for their image, like Paris Hilton.
She says her eyes are brown but she wears bright blue contacts because they help her with that iconic image she wants to have. Blue eyes are always very popular.

"I’m a brand, an entertainer. The brand Paris Hilton is like a fantasy life. I think people think of me as like an American princess fantasy,” Paris said about wearing contact lenses. “I want to be an icon. It’s just something I always wanted to be. Madonna is an icon and just amazing. The color of my eyes is part of the image I want."

In Hollywood, actors and actresses sometimes wear color contact lenses when they do a part in a film. Orlando Bloom wore blue contact lenses when he played Legolas in the Lord of the Rings films.

Tom Cruise wore unnaturally blue eye contacts during the filming of Interview with a Vampire.

Another example is Robert Pattinson, who wore gold color contacts during the filming of Twilight and New Moon. He said they were v... Read More

Deep Lightness In Valentino Spring 2012 Collection

For something who values femininity and exquisiteness Valentino Spring 2012 Haute Couture collection is the perfect collection as it included dresses of incredible beauty, stylish trousers and super delicate tops. Fabrics used are the lightest ever possible.

Despite the fact Valentino is not my favorite brand I can’t but admire Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s designs, especially Haute Couture ones, because these are always totally sophisticated, feminine, delicate and exquisite. Spring 2012 collection is very beautiful with fabrics so airy and diaphanous that up to 5 layers were used to achieve the ‘deep lightness’ effect the two designers wanted.

All dresses in Valentino Couture Spring 2012 collection came in white, nude and pale rosy and blue colors. Many came with lovely small prints which added a little glamour and cuteness to the looks.

Paired with printed flats Valentino dresses came in maxi and midi lengths all looking modest and elegant.

There were interesting tops over lacy blouses which were adorned with bows. And bows were also features on belts.

Some dresses in Valentino Haute Couture Spring 2012 collection were beautified with rich embroidery – all over a dress, on sleeves or skirts, or even blouses only.

Men’s Fashion Trends Spring/ Summer 2012

Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion for men is going to be very interesting.Looking into the men's fashion trends for Spring/Summer of 2012 we can not help but notice how rich in style, color and texture they actually are.  The color scheme won’t be limited to typical men’s colors and will extend to bold orange and vivid blue. Monochromatic look is to be really hot but combinations of hues (even daring combinations!) will also be welcome. Safest colors are camel and white.

If we talk about trendy prints, it is worth mentioning they will come in a variety but plaid and stripes will be among favorites. For vacation time you can go for Hawaiian patterns.

White shirt is a versatile item which can look elegant or very casual depending on the way you choose to sport it. Wear it tucked in a great pair of trousers with a matching jacket and classic shoes and you are ready for a business meeting. Wear it loose or with one side tucked in David Beckham’s style with a pair of jeans and you look quite differently yet stylish.

Oversized pants are still in for Spring/ Summer 2012. This trend seems to be very popular with both men and women. For hotter days look for a nice pair of shorts which can be worn with a suit jacket or a tee, with or without suspenders.

In the shoe area changes are few. Of course, classic shoes are top trendy. But if you are not an austere suit guy you can go for a pair of fringed loafers instead, or comfy sandals if you prefer wearing a t-shirt and cutoffs as a daily outfit. Also try rangers and neo-creepers to be in style.

Men’s Spring/ Summer 2012 accessory trends include a good watch, the more expensive the better, a scarf that can be both colorful and monotone, funky sunglasses and a purse.

Hot Rod Flaming Shoes Prada Spring Summer 2012 Footwear

Prada Spring Summer 2012 footwear collection is on fire !!!Hot Rod Flaming Shoes are all the talk after Prada started its Spring/Summer 2012 footwear collection campaign. The Hot Rod Flaming Shoes were inspired by American racing cars so popular in the 1950s. Popular to this day, "Hot Rod" are vintage, but very powerful cars. The cars make loud engine noises as they go at high speeds. Prada designer shoes are inspired by high speeds of these cars and feature a collection of "flaming" shoes in blue, green, beige, black and, of course, colors of fire - yellow and red. Inspired by vintage powerful American car of the 50s, the so-called “Hot Rod” shoes collection is a parade of “flaming” shoes with a wide variety of bright contrast colors, graphic designs, and decorative ornaments.

Published for the first time by Vogue and Elle magazines, then by various American editions this January, these Prada shoes HOT collection will unquestionably hands down be the most coveted footwear of Summer 2012, searched and loved by many fashion lovers worldwide.

Featuring a choice of black and red, orange and yellow, pale blue, nude and white colors, there are selections of heeled shoes, wedges, and sandals detailed with Prada signature huge wings of flame, in bright green, red, and yellow colors.

Speaking of these amazing shoe designs, with their flame tips in bright red, burgundy and yellow colors, they all remind us of speed and the incredible sensation of the adrenaline running though veins. Look silly and bizarre at first time, but turn out these designs are genuinely brilliant and new. I just can’t wait to see who will be strutting their stuff wearing these shoes for the coming season. But definitely already know Anna Dello Russo has these shoes in every variation and every color … Fantastic !!!

Top 6 Shoe Collections For Spring/ Summer 2012

The list of Top 6 shoes collections for Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion season includes those ranges which are really special, those which we dream about and once we can afford them we wear with dignity.
Fashion for shoes is not as changeable as for clothing but every season we see certain styles come and go. It is normal and logical. For Spring/ Summer 2012 designers have offered plenty of designs to choose from. And it was really hard to pick out only 6 collections from dozens other lovely ranges. But these 6 are reflections of my own style and they are the sources of inspiration and dreams for me (Don’t think I’m a shallow blonde! I just love shoes so much I can barely breathe when I see just another perfect pair!).
So, let’s start – TOP 6 SHOE COLLECTIONS FOR SPRING/ SUMMER 2012:

I would start from Chirstian Louboutin shoes. They are the best for me. I know you would say it is banal but these shoes are really special. Yes, they aren’t very comfortable, and those heels are often hard to walk in but they are worth the pain we suffer. The designer was right.

Manolo Blahnik shoes are fabulous. They are more diverse in styles and colors and are perfectly comfy. Maybe they don’t look as impressive as Loubooutins but they certainly do look more feminine and delicate.

Gaetano Perrone has released just one collection under his own name but it has already found its fans. It is not surprising at all considering the fact he has been creating footwear for Alexander McQueen for a few years. His shoes are spectacular – extravagant but incredibly beautiful in design they will soon appear on the red carpet as often as shoes of other exclusive brands.

D&G Spring/ Summer 2012 collection seems a little out-of-place here due to the fact it is casual and shoes presented in it are far from being cute or elegant but don’t we all from time to time turn to comfier styles – flats, wedges, even sneakers? We do, and for such moments this range is ideal.

I was impressed with Nicholas Kirkwood’s first footwear collection and immediately remembered the name of a young but very talented designer. His Spring/ summer 2012 range isn’t as impressive but it is womanly and chic and features amazing floral prints.

Prada has returned us to the ’50s fashion era with its clothing but shoes with those flame tips looked like they were ready to transport us back to the present at any time.

Rihanna for Emporio Armani Underwear Spring Summer 2012

Rihanna continues to be the face of the Emporio Armani Underwear line. The new Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign has released today, showing the singer in a well executed spread, shot by fashion photographer duo Mert and Marcus Piggott.

Sporting a billowed blow-out topped with bangs, Rihanna continues fronting for the newest Emporio Armani Underwear Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign, featuring less edgy pictorials than the previous campaign, but focusing much softer and sexier side of Rihanna.

Photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott still with black and white images, the campaign shows alluring Rihanna lying coquettishly on a leather sofa and in a bed, donning underwear lines, such as lacy two pieces, shiny camisole, sexy two-colored briefs, and some denim lines.
Gone with her blonde bob wig, posing atop a car, and classic film noir concept like her previous fall winter campaign (see here), in front of the photographer duo’s lenses, Rihanna comes with more feminine and softer touches, sporting with long brown hair, and still with hot sexy poses, which pretty much the campaign seems to focus much more to the model rather than to the label.

Or … maybe it’s just Rihanna who looks incredibly stunning and appealing that simply makes people look at her, again and again, ignoring the entire lines she’s wearing. Seriously, when I looked at other lingerie campaigns, I definitely still had my attention to the collection, but first time I saw this campaign, it was Rihanna’s figure, poses, and appeals that made me keep staring. Right?

Classically Plain from Christian Dior Pre Fall 2012 Collection

For his collection of Christian Dior Pre Fall 2012, Bill Gaytten keeps playing simple, plain, and safe, like his previous spring summer 2012 collection. The brand comes with various classic winter selections, which I don’t see anything new among it’s pieces, neither from colors, designs, nor fabrics.

Although it still embodies the luxury and elegance of Dior, but if we look back to the last year Christian Dior Pre Fall 2011 collection (check here), obviously there are huge differences between the two designers, and I think Gaytten still can’t beat John Galliano’s pieces for Dior.

On the other hand, who cares about the glamorous and fully detailed amazing pieces of Galliano? If many people seem to appreciate this pre-fall collection with it’s classiness, simplicity, and elegance as much as they love Galliano’s creations, means that Dior has managed to survive among critics of their “lack of soul” collection after Galliano’s dramatic exit.

For me this pre fall 2012 collection has more versatile value compare than Galliano’s. Focusing on something simple and clean of super ready-to-wear pieces, Gaytten’s pieces are just so lovable for those who want to have selections of everyday wear.

There are no special patterns nor prints, but their skinny pencil skirts, peplum jackets, bell-shaped tulip skirts, and round-collar capes are so charming and stylish for daytime wear, along with a dash liquid-like vinyl and graphic plaid to make a bit glamour touch to the collection. Then the collection came to everyone’s favorite part, the evening wear, with draping and embroidery. Ultimately, the Christian Dior pre-fall 2012 collection is all click fingers in rectangular motion from left to right.
